Pine Tar (also known as archangel tar) is an all-natural substance that results from burning the wood of pine trees. Pine tar was originally used in the Scandinavian countries. The first use of this unique product was to protect wood from the harsh winter conditions as well as to preserve the bottoms of Nordic skis. Known for its antibacterial, antimicrobial, and anti-fungal properties, pine tar soaps have been used for their medicinal benefits in the treatment of skin conditions for many years. 

Pine tar soap has demonstrated effectiveness in soothing psoriasis and eczema, reducing itching of the scalp due to dandruff, relieving itching associated with bug bites, and soothe symptoms of poison ivy, and providing relief from other skin irritations.
